Widely regarded as one of Mexico's leading contemporary artists, Leonardo Nierman creates works that challenge and inspire, drawing upon themes from the beauty of nature to the mysteries and wonders of the universe. Sunroad Centrum is proud to present the latest sculpture by the world renowned artist, which was commissioned specifically for the project.
The spectacular focal point of Sunroad Centrum is Nierman’s new 45-foot high stainless steel sculpture - a tribute to the unique combination of beauty, creativity, design, and architecture that can be achieved when a project is conceived with all elements in balance. The new Sunroad commission is the largest piece of public art on display in San Diego County.
His works - paintings, sculptures, textiles - are featured in major collections around the world, including the Vatican Gardens, the Albert Einstein Institute of New York, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., and the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City. Locally, Nierman also designed the “Flame of Friendship” sculpture, which greets visitors at the San Diego Convention Center.
